Your Climate Risk

The World Economic Forum notes “Of all risks, it is in relation to the environment that the world is most clearly sleepwalking into catastrophe” and environment-related risks dominate the Global Risks report 2020 for the fourth year in a row. This is reiterated by many sources and investors also want to understand what the risks and opportunities are for their money.

Sometimes this subject can feel overwhelming, especially when you’ve a hundred and one other things to deal with as the Company Leader. However, no matter where you are on your climate journey, Climate Matters can help move it to a level of understanding of the material risks within your business model.

Climate-Related Financial Disclosures

The added benefit to understanding your climate risks is that you can report on them to investors. Climate Matters are trained in Climate-related Financial Disclosures from the Task Force chaired by Mark Carney of the Financial Stability Board.

2020 is a great year to start preparing these disclosures and build on it on an annual basis. We recommend getting started in the climate risk space, no matter how small. You may even have a legal requirement to report on your climate risk.
